The coffee you waste dialing in

New bag.
Back to zero.

Every new bag starts from zero

You open a new $22 bag, pull out your recipe, and brew. It's off. You tweak grind, then temp, then ratio. Three or four brews in, it's finally dialed, and a third of the bag is gone before it tastes the way it should.

The recipe doesn't adapt to the bean

A natural Ethiopian wants lower heat and pulse pours. A washed Colombian wants more heat and a continuous spiral. But you've been pouring both at 93°C, same ratio, same technique. And then you blame the bag when it doesn't click.

"Medium-fine" is a shrug, not a setting

You Google "Comandante C40 medium-fine clicks" and find four different answers. Every bean means a new guess. Every guess means another brew wasted dialing it in.

You're not a bad brewer. You're starting from scratch every bag when you shouldn't have to. Here's the fix ↓

Field notes

What coffee people are brewing.

Scanned my natural Yirgacheffe and the V60 recipe pulled out strawberry notes I'd never gotten before. First time I didn't tweak a thing.

Alex R.Home brewer · V60 + Comandante C40First-try success, zero adjustments

I used to brew every coffee at 93°C. Coffee Master dropped my natural to 88°C with pulse pours. Completely different cup. Now I trust the recipe more than my instinct.
