Preparation
Rinse the filter
Rinse the paper briefly under the tap and fit the cap.
Step-by-step recipe
Add water
Add the grounds and pour 200 g of boiling water over them.
Stir
Stir three times.
Steep
Seat the plunger just enough to stop it draining and leave it for a minute.
Stir again
Lift the plunger out and stir three times, front to back.
Press
Replace the plunger and press with your body weight rather than your arm. Do not force the last of it.
Notes
Boiling water and a fine filter grind, which reads as too hot and too fine until you notice the contact time is only a minute. Two sets of three stirs, one at the start and one at the end, do the extracting. Aimed squarely at light roasts.
